Question:
We have the unit
connected to a new PC in one location (running
Windows XP, plenty of memory, disk space,
processor power, etc.). We can use the PC,
connect to the box and use it fine. But when we
try to remotely use the software (using Windows
XP Remote Desktop Connection), we get an error
box popping up which says "Incompatible
Requirements, Not enough colors (min 24 bits per
pixel required)". The monitor is set for 32 bits
per pixel.
Answer:
The problem can be
solved by changing Windows XP parameters to increase
Video Resolution for Windows XP Terminal Services.
It seems that although the client configured the
remote connection to use 24 bit colors, the host is
not configured for it. Please follow the
instructions in this article on how to allow the
host PC to support 24 bit colors:
