Alcatel Belgium Deploys TraceSpan DSL Xpert™ Multi-Layer Analyzer
Leading DSLAM manufacturer using industry’s first non-intrusive performance-analysis solution to resolve ADSL/ADSL2 interoperability issues

Ra’anana, Israel – February 4, 2004 – TraceSpan™ Communications, a provider of broadband monitoring solutions, announced today that Alcatel Belgium has acquired the DSL Xpert™ multi-layer analyzer. Leveraging patent-pending technology, DSL Xpert™ breaks new ground as the industry’s first non-intrusive performance-analysis solution for ADSL and ADSL2 products. Alcatel Belgium is using DSL Xpert™ mainly to resolve ADSL/ADSL2 interoperability issues.

By deploying DSL Xpert™, Alcatel Belgium is tackling ADSL interoperability and standard-compliance problems between digital subscriber line access multiplexers (DSLAMs) residing at the central office (CO) and customer premise equipment (CPE). The company may also use DSL Xpert™ for assessment of third-party chipset vendors and for product evaluation within its internal development process.

“We are extremely pleased in assisting Alcatel, the world’s leading DSLAM manufacturer, to provide more efficient customer support and resolve ADSL interoperability issues,” said Dr. Hanan Herzberg, TraceSpan founder and CEO. “We are proud to play a role in helping Alcatel help its customers, and to assist the company in maintaining its market leadership in the DSLAM space. We hope this is the beginning of a fruitful, long-term relationship with Alcatel Belgium and other divisions within the worldwide Alcatel organization.”

DSL Xpert™ is a powerful analysis solution for service providers (telcos and CLECS), current and next-generation ADSL equipment (e.g. DSLAM, DLC, modem, router/gateway) manufacturers, and technology / chipset developers. DSL Xpert™ accelerates time to market and return on investment by cutting significant time from the development, deployment, debugging, support and interoperability verification of ADSL equipment.
