TraceSpan Releases the Multi-ONU Emulator
Simplifies OLT testing while significantly increasing test coverage
Ra’anana, Israel, October 3, 2019 – TraceSpan Communications, a leader in broadband analysis and monitoring solutions, announced today the launch of the Multi-ONU Emulator, a unique new product which introduces a revolutionary approach for testing an OLT.
The Multi-ONU Emulator emulates up to 256 ONUs in a single compact unit, provides a variety of configuration options for flexibility in test scenarios, and allows emulation of various ONU vendors and models via configuration of ONU parameters and vendor-specific options. It also includes a built-in traffic generation module for traffic management tests and load tests.
The Multi-ONU Emulator comes with an integrated PON analyzer, which can analyze the data to-and-from the OLT under test, compare the OLT's behavior with its expected one and present detailed analysis results while highlighting incorrect behaviors and deviations from the standards.
"The traditional approach for testing an OLT imposes several significant challenges for vendors and service provider alike", said Dr. Hanan Herzberg, TraceSpan founder and CEO. "On the one hand, it requires complex test setups with hundreds or thousands of ONUs, fiber connections and power outlets and cables; and on the other hand it provides only partial coverage for some of the OLT's functionalities. The Multi-ONU Emulator addresses this challenge by enhancing the test coverage while significantly simplifying the test setup."
The Multi-ONU Emulator is currently available for shipment, with a special promotion price for customers who place their order for the system by the end of Q4/2019. Existing NG-PON Xpert customers with valid maintenance contracts can benefit from an additional discount by purchasing it as an add-on module for their system.
